The NFL is a week-to-week league, and this is a week-to-week article.
A lot of moment yet again. This is shaping up to be a wild season, so you might as well get used to it.
Here's the OFFICIAL power rankings heading into week 3..
1. RAMS ⬆️ (up from 3)
The Rams are the most complete team in the NFL. Talent everywhere. Young studs, and the veterans they brought in are making a difference. Don’t expect the Rams to be out of the top 5 all season.
2. JAGUARS ⬆️ (up from 5)
No Fournette, no problem. Bortles and crew made a statement against the Patriots. Jaguars are legit.
3. PACKERS ⬆️ (up from 4)
Rodgers was awesome. A tie was not. The defense collapsed on a game GB controlled the entire time against a solid Vikings squad.
4. CHIEFS ⬆️ (up from 8)
Patrick Mahomes is legit. This high powered offense is going to be a problem and a nightmare for defensive coordinators around the league.
5. VIKINGS ⬆️ (up from 9)
Cousins battled back in Lambaeu and impressed me. Thielen and Diggs might both go for 1000 yards this season.
6. BUCS ⬆️ (up from 10)
Jameis Winston has a new job. Back up quarterback. Ryan FitzMAGIC continues to impress. A lot of talent on this up and coming team.
7. EAGLES ⬇️ (down from 1)
Tough road loss to a talented team. The return of Wentz will make things look a lot different. The return of Alshon Jeffrey can’t come soon enough.
8. PATRIOTS ⬇️ (down from 2)
A road loss to a good team shouldn’t have Patriots fans worried. They are still a top team in the AFC. We'll see how Josh Gordon pans out for them.
9. FALCONS ⬇️ (down from 7)
The Falcons are victims of a crazy week. They fall down a few spots despite a big win. But I told you this team is good. Matt Ryan’s arm looks just fine as does their offense. They'll be moving back up soon enough.
10. SAINTS ⬆️ (up from 12)
It was an ugly win but you have to believe Brees and Payton will figure it out and continue to win games.
11. CHARGERS ⬆️ (previously on the bubble)
Melvin Gordon is the real deal. Will this be the year Rivers takes them over the edge?
12. BRONCOS ⬆️ (previously on the bubble)
Case Keenum and crew are 2-0. It looks like John Elway finally found his answer at QB.
On the bubble:
Dolphins: Tannehill is back and he looks good. A nice road win and a 2-0 start has put the Dolphins back on my radar and on the bubble.
Panthers: Tough road losses shouldn’t knock teams this far off the list, but this was a weird week. Cam and crew will still be in the playoff hunt towards the end of the season.
Bengals: The red rifle is 2-0. I still am not buying into this team, but maybe Marvin Lewis will finally be better than mediocre. Maybe.
Bears: After a heart breaking loss in GB, the Bears get a solid bounce back win on Monday Night. Khalil Mack is a problem.
