One of the main reasons why the Eagles won the Super Bowl was their incredible team chemistry.
Mike Wallace, Michael Bennett, and Haloti Ngata are all making their Philly debuts tonight. On paper they look like upgrades over Torrey Smith, Vinny Curry, and Beau Allen. But will they mesh with this group as well as those three did? Or will it take a few weeks to gel?
How will Darren Sproles and Jason Peters look after such a long layoff?
Nigel Bradham is suspended for tonight's game. Can Nate Gerry step up?
Due to injuries Shelton Gibson has been thrusted into the number three wide receiver role, and will also return kicks. Will a strong preseason translate into a productive regular season?
Dallas Goedert looks like a beast, but how will the rookie fare in his first career NFL game?
They also have a new offensive coordinator and QB coach. Will that play a role tonight?
2. The pass rush battle
Both of these teams love to get after the QB.
The Eagles have the best d line in all of football. If they want to win this game they will have to get after Matt Ryan early and often.
The same goes for the Falcons. They only sacked Nick Foles once back in January. They are now without 2017 sack leader Adrian Clayborn, but Vic Beasley and Takk McKinley will be a handful.
3. Doug Pederson vs. Dan Quinn
This is the biggest mismatch of the night.
Doug Pederson is a far and away the superior coach in tonight's matchup.
I would expect Pederson to have yet another strong gameplan for his Super Bowl MVP backup quarterback.
What will be Dan Quinn's answer for the RPOs?

I took the Falcons on the podcast, but the closer this game gets, the more I’m leaning back toward the Eagles.
Every beat writer and national pundit I see has taken the Falcons, which bodes well for the Eagles tonight.
If the Eagles are going to win this game it’s going to be at the line of scrimmage. They have the best O line and D line in football. They both need to dominate tonight.
I don't think we'll see Super Bowl 52 Nick Foles, but I do think he'll play well.
I'd love to see the tight ends be heavily involved, as well as Jay Ajayi. We'll see what Doug has up his sleeve.
I just have this feeling that there is too much going on with the Eagles right now. The Bradham suspension really worries me. Combine that with the injuries, and it may prove to be too much for the Eagles to overcome in week 1.
I do believe this will be a close game. It's really a 50/50 coin flip. Maybe a late turnover will be the difference in the game.
I hope I'm wrong but I'm staying with the Falcons by a slim margin.
Falcons 24, Eagles 20
It's going to be an incredibly ugly performance tomorrow, especially in the first half. You can thank our defense for this one- they're going to be the reason we pull this win off.
Eagles 16, Falcons 13
Wow, Super Bowl champs what a ride, what a memory.. that’s in the past though. New year, new opportunity. I reiterate, the season starts with Atlanta and ends in Atlanta. BUT it’s gonna be tough to beat a healthy & salty Falcons team. I’ll let them have this one cause the only game that matters is in January when we beat their ass.
Falcons 27, Eagles 20
New season, new dream for Eagles fans...however...this season will be delayed as long as Wentz is out. We lose a tough defensive battle to open the 2018 NFL season.
Flacons 21, Eagles 20
Although I’m picking Atlanta to beat New England in the Super Bowl, my next pick would be Eagles over New England. Neither would shock me. And what really won’t shock me even more is when the Eagles raise the banners and the defense rallies behind foles for a victory. I think we see Super Bowl MVP Foles, not preseason Foles.
