We don't usually do game by game recaps, but this is the exception.
With their backs up against the wall, the Phillies delivered with their biggest win of the season to date.
Thanks to the bullpen and the help of some new additions, the Phillies managed a split with the now 86-36 Boston Red Sox. With the win they remain just two games behind Atlanta for first place in the NL East.
- What a debut
We thought Wilson Ramos would be a solid addition, but damn.
3/4, 2 doubles, a triple, 3 RBIs, 3 runs scored, and he also threw out a runner.
- Justin Bour and Philly were meant for each other..
Bour went 2/5 with a run scored in his first start with the Phillies.
He was solid at the plate, but his attitude and style of play are what make him endearing to the city...
- The bullpen is a strength
The bullpen was absolutely fantastic.
7 pitchers combined for 6 and 2/3 innings of 1 run ball.
Hector Neris was the unsung hero of the night..
In what was possibly the biggest mismatch in all of baseball, Adam Morgan was able to get JD Martinez to ground out in the 5th inning.
Seranthony Dominguez didn't allow a hit as he came in with two outs in the 8th inning to record the 4-out save.

The Phillies showed a lot of fight again last night. It's hard to see this team falling out of the race.
They went toe-to-toe with the best team in baseball and came out with a season series split.
Sure, they have their flaws and are boring at times, but how can you not love this team?
They will need to keep the pressure on Atlanta. The Braves have the easier schedule over the next 11 games, but the Phillies have the advantage this weekend.
