Agholor was drafted in round 1, while Sanders was drafted in round 3, but overall, these players are very similar.
I think all Eagles fans would be happy if Agholor had a career similar to Sanders.
Let’s take a look at the receivers drafted ahead of Agholor in 2015...
Amari Cooper # 4 overall
2015: 16 games, 72 receptions, 1070 yards, 6 TDs
2016: 14 games, 83 receptions, 1153 yards, 5 TDs
2017: 14 games, 48 receptions, 680 yards, 7 TDs
Kevin White # 7 overall
2016: 4 games, 19 receptions, 187 yards,
2017: 1 game, 2 receptions, 6 yards
Devante Parker # 14 overall
2015: 15 games, 26 receptions, 494 yards, 3 TDs
2016: 15 games, 56 receptions, 744 yards, 4 TDs
2017: 13 games, 57 receptions, 670 yards, 1 TD
There is an argument to be made that Agholor is currently the best receiver on this list.
If I wrote this one year ago, you would probably have me fitted for a straitjacket.
It cannot be emphasized enough how much the hiring of Mike Groh as offensive coordinatior should help Agholor.
He now has the wide receivers coach that completely rebuilt him from the ground up as his OC.
No one knows Agholor’s strengths better than Groh.
We saw how much confidence this coaching staff already has in Agholor during Super Bowl 52. He was targeted 11 times, catching 9 balls for 84 yards.
(If he averaged 84 yards over a 16 game season, he would go for 1,344 yards.)
With Groh as the new OC, that confidence will only continue to “grow.”
Alshon Jeffery (rotator cuff) will most likely be out or limited for the duration of training camp, giving Agholor even more reps. If Jeffery’s injury lingers into the season, the Eagles will lean heavily on #13.
If you think of Agholor from a fantasy perspective, he is currently ranked somewhere between the 30th and 35th best receiver, and is currently going off draft boards from anywhere between rounds 8-10.
It wouldn't be a shock if we looked at Agholor this time next year as a top 10-15 fantasy receiver and he was going off draft boards around the 4th and 5th round.
If Carson Wentz is healthy, it could be off to the races for Nelson Agholor.
A season somewhere in the neighborhood of 1,000 yards and 6-8 TDS, is very much in play.
