Like all of you, I just couldn't wrap my brain around the fact that the Sixers general manager could have FIVE, yes FIVE fake twitter accounts to slander players, coaches, former general managers, while pumping up himself.
However the story, which was incredibly researched and written by Ben Detrick, is very believable, especially for this day in age.
The more I read, the more I believed.
Between the obvious misspellings, the Jahlil Okafor/Markelle Fultz info, and the accounts following people like his son's high school basketball coach, I was sold.
The bigger issue than the Sixers GM being an insecure creep, is that any way you spin this, it's a black eye for an organization that is entering their most important off-season in franchise history.
There is no hiding from this.
"The allegations are serious and we have commenced an independent investigation into this matter."
If the general manager is tweeting things like this....
.... then yeah, I'd say it's pretty serious.
If my phone has been blowing up this morning about this.. imagine what Joel Embiid's phone looks like.
The amazing part is that Colangelo was brought here to give the Sixers "credibility" and now the organization is a bigger laughing stock than ever before.
EVERYONE IS TALKING ABOUT THIS.....
There is the possibility that this story is complete BS, but regardless if Colangelo truly did this or not, it's just a bad look for everyone involved with the organization. This is not the image you want when trying to land a big time free agent.
So what should the Sixers do?
It's going to be an interesting few days here in Philadelphia...
