Wentz posted a video of him throwing just three months after his ACL surgery. It's a beautiful sight.
Wentz is an absolute machine. It's hard for me to believe that he misses opening night....
Speaking of opening night.... It looks like the potential opening night match-up on Thursday, September 6th featuring the NFC championship rematch is all but a done deal.
The free agency period has calmed down considerably. The Top 10 free agents remaining are..
1. Ndamukong Suh (DT, MIA)
2. EJ Gaines (CB, BUF)
3. Morgan Burnett ( S, GB)
4. Terrelle Pryor (WR, WASH)
4. Demarco Murray (RB, TEN)
5. Jordan Matthews (WR, BUF)
6. Navarro Bowman (LB, OAK)
7. Mike Pouncey (C, MIA)
9. Kenny Vaccaro (S, N.O)
10. Eric Ebron (TE, DET)
The Eagles remaining free agents:
DE Michael Bennett
CB Daryl Worley
DT Haloti Ngata
LB Corey Nelson
WR Marcus Johnson- traded to Seattle
WR Torrey Smith - traded to Carolina
Trey Burton - signed w/Chicago
Beau Allen - signed w/Bucs
Patrick Robinson - signed w/Saints
LeGarrette Blount - signed w/Lions
Vinny Curry - signed w/Bucs
Caleb Sturgis- signed w/Chargers
LB Nigel Bradham
Howie Roseman has done an amazing job with the cap, while somehow upgrading the defensive line and retaining his best free agent.
The Eagles still need to address the wide receiver position. While Torrey Smith isn't a huge loss, they will need to replace him in some capacity. Whether that is through the draft or in the second phase of free agency, remains to be seen.
Tight End is also a priority, but again, could be addressed in the draft or in the second phase of free agency.
If they do decide to take a flier on a free agent, here are a few names to watch:
Martellus Bennett- he would come cheap and seems like that he really wants to play with his brother.
Jeremy Maclin- people seem to really want Maclin to return, but I'm indifferent. He doesn't bring a whole lot to the table, but would be a cheap option and provide a veteran presence.
Mike Wallace- I'm not a huge Mike Wallace fan, but he would be really cheap and if nothing else, he could be a deep threat.
Benjamin Watson- Would fit it nicely in the locker room, but dosen't have a ton left.
Brice Butler- He's had some moments and would be a nice depth option.
The Eagles don't really need much more.
I wouldn't expect anything crazy until closer to the draft, but with Howie Roseman... you never know.
