Well, this wasn’t pretty.
I thought the Eagles offense would look a lot better, but this game was a reminder that Carson Wentz is no longer under center.
This is life after losing the league MVP, every game is going to be a dog fight.
I’m going to try and hold off on the negativity as best as possible, but like many others, this game has left me concerned.
QB: Foles Files tomorrow at some point.
The running backs just don’t get used enough for me or anyone else to know if they are good or not.
I think they are good, but 14 carries for Ajayi (I know he fumbled) isn’t enough.
He looked good on the screen pass, just wish they would get him more involved.
WRs/TEs: C -
Ertz who was targeted 14 times had 9 catches for 81 yards. Foles missed him badly a few times, he also didn’t help his QB on the interception.
The recivers didn’t have their best game. Again Foles wasn’t helping, but they need to step up their game.
O line: B
I thought the O line played well. Lane Johnson continues to pass monumental tests.
Kelce, minus the snap situation, was real good, and Brooks was solid yet again. Even Big V and Warmack played well.
D line: B
Chris Long was all over the field. What an off-season signing.
Vinny Curry forced a fumble and had a good overall game. Both Cox and Jernigan were solid.
Not a very good game for the linebackers. Kendricks had one of his worst games of the season and Ellerbe is just not a starter.
Nigel Bradham led the Eagles in tackles yet again.
I would love to kill the secondary, but I can’t. The Raiders only had one big play and that was pretty much it.
The double move is ridiculous at this point!!
They obviously aren’t the best group, but overall they tightened up and made plays.
Ronald Darby’s interception and Malcolm Jenkins strip on Jalen Richard were the reasons why the Eagels won this game
Special teams: B
I can’t waste time worrying about Elliott.
The coach: C-
I hate the running back situation.
I didn’t love the game plan either.
Pederson is clearly hamstrung with Foles, but can they just commit to the run a little bit more?
The screen call was a thing of beauty, and his 4th down call worked as well.
It’s hard to grade Doug at this point. It wasn’t his best game, but wasn’t his worst.
Defensively, Schwartz dialed up the blitz and had Carr all sorts of confused.
He also has limitations with this secondary, but overall he was pretty solid.
It’s tough not to be concerned.
Carson Wentz masked so many of this teams weaknesses, it’s impossible to be as efficient as they were.
The defense bailed out the offense and themselves by forcing 5 turnovers. Without the turnovers they would have lost this game.
The good news is that the Eagles have locked up home field advantage throughout the playoffs.
The even better news is they have a few weeks to figure things out before they have another meaningful game.
If they can meet somewhere in the middle between last week’s offensive performance and Monday’s second half defensive performance they’ll be in great shape.
The question still remains if this team has enough to elevate their game to win a few playoff games without the MVP.
They will obviously have to be better than what we saw tonight if they want to make a run.
