This a Christmas Day unlike any other. The Sixers play in Madison Square Garden at noon, and the Eagles have a chance to give the entire City one last Christmas gift by beating Oakland and clinching home field advantage throughout the playoffs.
Today, every Mouthpiece contributor will be giving their selections for not only the Eagles game, but the Sixers game as well.
In between unwrapping presents and being with (or avoiding) family, tweet us your predictions @MPSportstalk!
I gave my prediction for tonight's game on this past week's podcast, and I am not backing down from what I said.
The Eagles will make a statement tonight. There is no reason to believe that Nick Foles and the Eagles offense will slow down. The Raiders lack playmakers on defense, they have only picked off 4 passes all season! The Eagles will go for 30 points or more for the 8th time in their last 9 games.
The Defense will step up as well and let the entire world know that the Philadelphia Eagles are not going anywhere!!!

As far as the Sixers go, they are a mess both on the court and as an organization. But these are the type of games Embiid lives for.
The MSG debut for Ben Simmons paired with Embiid will get the Sixers a slim victory.
Sixers 102 Knicks 100
The RAIDA's are coming into South Philly on Christmas only to realize that Saint Nick Foles didn't put anything under the tree for them except for a big fat L and a long miserable flight back across the country. Tonight the Birds in all black mind you will get back on track defensively and offensively. I think they will have success through the air but the run will be the focus and I expect to see more Ajayi... I'll be live and in color with the Philly Phaithful to get one final gift for Christmas and that's home field advantage for the playoffs!
Birds 34 - Raiders 17
Colangelo continues to showcase Embiid on national television like this is Barnum and Baileys greatest show on Earth.. no nights off I don't care if you're sick, injured or dying, you're playing! It's been bumpy as of late, RoCo forgot how to shoot since inking his deal, Bayliss thinks he's Ray Allen, Simmons jump shot is still, well I'm waiting to see it actually... and the chemistry just hasn't been there throughout the team. However, I do believe in Christmas Mircales and I think Sam HinkieClause has another reason to smile at his product when the Sixers go to NY and bully the Knicks. I don't have a score prediction I just know Philly takes care of business in MSG.
This game is simple. Win and the road to the NFC championship goes through Philly. That’s it. The only thing standing in the Eagles’ way is a sorry excuse of a professional football organization, the Oakland Raiders. They entered yesterday’s slate of games needing wins from the Ravens, Pats, Titans and Dolphins just to keep their playoff hopes alive. They got 3 of 4 as Miami couldn’t keep pace with the Chiefs. With nothing to play for on Monday night, Philadelphia should be able to lock up home field through out fairly easily. My only concern is the recent lackluster play of the Eagles secondary. Crabtree and Cooper could be a match up nightmare if Cooper does play. His status is still up in the air and I would think that with the playoffs out of the picture, Cooper will be the same for the rest of the year. Everyone will be hoping for Foles to have another record setting day against the Raiders. I don’t see another 7 TDs this time around but I do see 3. St. Nick will lead the Eagles to victory as Oakland tries to play the roll of Grinch this Christmas night.

Brain your basketball team, WOOF. That’s the most relatable Christmas movie quote for the recent play of the Sixers. Losers of 5 in a row and 9 of the last 10. They’ve played some uninspired basketball of late. Philly was swept in a home and home with Toronto. Some how they managed to play worse with Embiid during the second game. The Knicks on the other hand aren’t lighting the world on fire but have won 6 of the last 10. They were also able to capture two impressive homes one over Boston and the other over the Thunder recently. Nothing tells me that Philly should win this game except the line. New York -2 at home against a slumping Sixers squad.
Give me JoJo on the big stage! Philly breaks out of their skid and gets a tough, close win over New York.
A Christmas Night game featuring the Philadelphia Eagles and the Oakland Raiders, a game that could solidify home field advantage, and make the Super Bowl highway a direct route through Philly- will unfortunately be a battle. With the Eagles defense on a three game decline, I feel they'll do just enough to hold on for a win. I'm well aware that Foles has thrown 7 touchdowns against the Raiders back in 2013- however that was 4 years ago with a speedy down field threat in Desean Jackson. Eagles win in a close one
Eagles 24 Raiders 20.
And now on to our beloved "trust the process" Philadelphia 76ers going up against their arch rival New York knicks (who didn't need to tank for 5 years to still have more wins than the sixers at this present time). I feel that Madison Square Garden is going to get a nice Christmas present when knicks hand the Sixers a loss. In this game the Sixers will once again disappoint with a massive lead given up toward the end of the third quarter.
I think the Eagles offense “slows down” against an underrated Raiders defense and they will not eclipse the 30 point mark. However, they will get close. Foles will continue to impress if the offensive line can continue to protect. I also expect the eagles defense to bounce back and force at least two turnovers and have 4+ sacks.
