The Fantasy playoffs are upon us. This is your guide to a victory!
If you didn't make the fantasy playoffs, don't worry there is still time to make some money. This list of starters and sleepers are the players you should be targeting in DFS leagues for week 14.
START QB: Alex Smith
I don’t know how these guys are still in the playoff hunt after dropping 5 of their last 6, but they are. Smith has been under scrutiny along with Andy Reid. Speaking of Andy Reid, what happened to Kareem Hunt?!?
However, Smith was on fire and fortunately for fantasy owners it doesn’t matter if the Chiefs win or lose, we only care about the player and the stats! Last time Smith played da Raidas it was a shootout until the very end! Oakland is 23rd against opposing QBs and the game is in Arrowhead.
BONUS START: I also like Philip Rivers this week. Rivers and Keenan Allen have been on fire. He’s at home this week, should throw the ball 500 times, and put up some nice numbers against the Skins.
STAY AWAY QB: Case Keenum
This guy has been playing out of his mind keeping Teddy Bridgewater on the bench. However, for some reason I think/hope he goes back into his old backup QB ways and has an off game. Carolina has been super stingy since week 7 surrendering only 13.4 fantasy points per game on average to opposing QB’s. This game is in Carolina and I could see the Panthers making it tough on the Vikings offense.
START RB: LeSean McCoy
Shady has just been average the last few weeks and part of the reason is because the Bills have been trying to figure out who is running their offense. The Colts have allowed over 20 points to opposing backs since week 10. I think Shady is involved early and often both in the passing and running game this week. If I’m heading into the playoffs with Shady on my squad I’m feeling super confident that he’ll have a signature performance.
START RB: Alfred Morris
27 carries 127 yards and a TD. Giants are an absolute dumpster fire and are horrible against the run. Beast Mode went nuts on them last week and with tackle Tyron Smith healthy I think Freddy will find plenty of running room at Metlife on Sunday. Ride him into the playoffs with full confidence with a glimmer of hope that Zeke could return for a potential championship game if you can make it that far.
STAY AWAY RB: Denver backfield
I said it from day one on the Glockcast, the Denver Broncos are Frauds. This offense is so bad I can’t even watch. With their quarterback garnering zero respect, running lanes will be clogged yet again. I wouldn’t be surprised if Elway eventually takes matters into his own hands and suits up before the end of the season.
START WR: Larry Fitzgerald
Fitz is an absolute machine, and a first ballot hall of famer. This week he’s at home where he averages 8 catches and 90 yards-per-game. I don’t care who is throwing the ball, he is a safety blanket, and will catch anything within the vicinity of him because he’s a grown ass man. Expect a heavy dose of Fitz this week, he’ll be in all of my DFS lineups!
START WR: Josh Gordon
I said last week I wasn’t on him simply because I didn’t know what his game shape was going to be and there was no sample size to see how involved he’d be within the offense. Well, 11 targets is enough to sway me. The GB Packers secondary is laughable and I think Gordon could go off big time. Also, call me crazy but I think the Cleveland Browns get their first win at home on Sunday.
BONUS START: Michael Crabtree
He had time to reflect during his suspension and also time to go out and buy himself a new chain. Derek Carr is probably so happy to have a legitimate passing option back on the field that he should be getting fed all game.
STAY AWAY WR: Emmanuel Sanders
Disastrous see above blurb about Denver offense and QB situation. I can’t trust this guy in a playoff scenario despite the ability to go off it’s too much of a risk for me.
START TE: Jason Witten
I love to hate this guy and hate to love him. He is without a doubt one of the most reliable TE’s that I’ve ever watched. I will make one negative comment because he is a Cowboy. Sweet forearm sleeves you virgin! However, this week his matchup is super juicy. The G-Men are dead last against TE’s and I just have a feeling the savy vet will take advantage of that and have a nice little Sunday.
BONUS START: Austin Sefarian-Jenkins
ASJ has been a wet fart for fantasy owners as of late. Denver, (yeah I know I’m talking about them again) is not good defending the position- they rank 30th and I think he’s got a chance to turn it around this week. Hopefully you’re not relying on him in fantasy playoffs, but if you are expect a low floor but a decently high ceiling. Great value play in DFS.
STAY AWAY TE Vernon Davis
I think age is finally catchin up with this guy. Give me Vernon Davis 5 years ago and I’m super pumped, but as for week 14 in 2017, based off of his performances lately, I’d leave this guy on the waiver wire. If he’s on your bench you may need to reevaluate making a change in your front office.
