Touchdown drive # 1
Wentz started the game hot going 7/9 for 62 yards and a touchdown.
3rd and 10 (8:55 first quarter) pass complete to Zach Ertz for 9 yards, putting his team in position to pick up the first down on 4th and short.
3rd and 8 (6:42 first quarter) pass completed to Alshon Jeffery. He extended the drive and on the very next play he hits a wide open Zach Ertz for a 17 yard touchdown.
Red Zone efficiency
His three touchdowns came in the Red zone yet again.
He now leads the NFL with 20 red zone touchdowns.
This is just flat out ridiculous. Not many players (let alone quarterbacks) can make plays like this.
3rd and 1 (.20 second quarter) Wentz runs for a first down and extends a drive that ultimately leads to his third touchdown pass of the day.
Wentz was turnover free again this week. He has a 28/5 touchdown to interception ratio and has not thrown a pick in the red zone all season.
There wasn’t a lot of “bad” for Wentz on Sunday.
Completion percentage? 63.8 yesterday and he ranks 29th in the league, but even that is nitpicking.
An overthrown ball intended for Mack Hollins in the end zone? Even on that throw Hollins was held and it led to an Eagles first down and his second touchdown on the next the play.
There isn’t much to criticize, however I would like to see him not run the ball as much!
Wentz continues to impress.
He has the Eagles in position for home field advantage throughout the playoffs and remains a top MVP candidate.
Wentz and Zach Ertz are one of the best duos in the entire NFL, and his rapport with Alshon Jeffery grows stronger each week.
He is careful with the ball, efficient in the red zone, and continues to extend drives.
He can flat out do it all.
