This season IS a success, but with Aaron Rodgers out for the season and from what I have seen from the rest of the teams in the league, there is NO REASON the Eagles shouldn't represent the NFC in the Super Bowl.
If the Eagles do in fact get home field advantage, which I believe they will, to not make it to the Super Bowl would have to be considered a bit of a bust. Just look at the 13-3 Dallas cowboys of last year.
A second year coach and a second year quarterback win the NFC Championship! Or maybe they don't.
Maybe our Eagles "let us down" by winning the division, making the playoffs, and getting eliminated before appearing and potentially hoisting the Lombardi trophy.
Would I be let down? Of course.
Will I call it a bust? Probably.
But the mere fact that we are even talking about the Eagles as Super Bowl contenders and the favorite to be NFC champions, makes this season a success. We found our long term head coach. We found our franchise quarterback.
We found something to be excited about in august and get to enjoy from Sept-February for many, many years to come.
So this season has become Super Bowl or bust, BUT at the same time it's a huge success.
