Believe it or not this Sixers team on paper is far better than the 2003/2004 Cavaliers, but Lebron did manage to lead them to a respectable 35-47 record.
If Monday night was any indication, Simmons should lead the Sixers to a better record than that.
Behind Simmons’ amazing play, the Sixers are starting to garner some respect. They are a 8.5 point favorite tonight at home vs Atlanta. Yes, Atlanta is 1-6, but when is the last time the Sixers were this big of a favorite, this early in the season?
There is no reason to think that Simmons will slow down anytime soon. He is a defensive nightmare. His mid range jumper and free throw shooting should only continue to improve. If he can eventually add the three pointer to his arsenal (he will) look out.
Fans should be watching two players represent the Sixers in LA for all-star weekend.
The losing, the tanking, the lottery failure, everything that fans have endured since essentially the Andrew Bynum trade, was all worth it. The Sixers have THEE player that will be the next face of the NBA.
