Top matchups for each position heading into week 2.
Tom Brady @ New Orleans
According to social media during/after last Thursdays game, both he and the Pats are done, he doesn’t have the arm strength anymore, and the talent is abysmal with no offensive weapons.
Give me a break!
Sure, he lost Julian Edelman and now he’s stuck with the poor man’s version in Danny Amendola. Sure, he and Brandin Cooks weren’t on the same page. And ok, Gronk had a bad night (he was blanketed by one of the best safeties in the league!!).
But come on!!! We’re talking about the GOAT here.
The fact that there is a doubt around him is silly.
Not that it matters or anything, but last 3 times the Pats lost their opener they went on to win the Super Bowl.
Hello!? Did anyone see what Sammy Sleeves did to the Saints? Tom might throw for 400 and 4 TD’s this week just to shut everyone up.
So sit back, relax, crack a coldie and watch him pick a part this defense like you’re playing QB hungover as piss on Thanksgiving morning while your inferior family members try to shut you down.
Additional matchups I like: Derek Carr vs. NY Jets, Russell Wilson vs. SF
Marshawn Lynch vs NJ Jets
I absolutely love Beast Mode this week, first home game, which will add a little excitement for the big man and plenty of skittles on the sideline. This matchup against the New York Stinkbomb Jets could have him poised for a huge day if the Raida’s give him the rock. Shady ran for a buck 10 on 22 carries and caught 5 balls for just under 50 yards but didn’t manage to find the end zone. I would expect similar stats and expectations for the BEAST this week, but unlike shady, I think he finds his way across the goal line for 6. The Jets D can’t stop a nose bleed.
Devonta Freeman vs Green Bay
He had a below average showing for Fantasy owners in week 1 in a sloppy game against the Bears. I think he’ll be used much more in the passing game this week and in a PPR format has potential to be a top 5 back in what should be a shootout between Matty Ice and A Rod. I’ll be targeting him in almost all of my Daily Fantasy lineups as well. Let’s EAT!
Additional matchups I like: Ty Montgomery @ Atlanta, Jay Ajayi vs. Chargers
Larry Fitz @ Indianapolis
With the injury to David Johnson and a suspect running back-by-committee it seems like the only thing for the offense to do is let Carson Palmer sling it around. Fitz had 13 targets last week and hauled in 6 for 74 yards. Clearly he’s one of Palmers safety blankets and favorite targets, I would expect the same work load maybe even more.
If Jared Goff can throw for 300+ and throw a TD to his rookie slot guy in Cooper Kupp against this Colts defense what do you think a couple of old (yes, very old) but solid savvy vets will do. Let us not forget Fitz went to the University of Phoenix! #BigHugeFootballSchool
Julio Jones vs Green Bay
Yeah, you’re probably saying “yeah, good call jerkoff. I can look at ESPN App too and see that Julio is the top projected WR” Well I’m here to tell you that you’re right. But while Chicago may have been able to keep Julio at bay with 4 catches for 66 yards, but this week is a different story. Davon House is going to be trying to cover Julio in his new house. I’m expecting him to have a day!
Mike Evans vs Chicago
With no sample size to pull from this season other than him looking like an absolute monster on HBO’s Hardknocks, I think he’s flying under the radar a bit. With Famous Jameis slinging the rock and more than a full week to digest the Labor Day crab legs, and the addition of D-Jax to free him up from double coverage, I would expect him to haul in almost everything thrown his way. I have a feeling the Buc’s blow out the Bears at home especially with a little extra rest.
Additional Matchups I like: Brandin Cooks @ New Orleans, back in the Dome! Davante Parker @ LA Chargers
GRONK @ New Orleans
Yes, Alex, I’ll take Rob Gronkowski for $1000 thank you! Not sure what else to say here. Expect a healthy dosage from Gronk this week. Rudolph had an ehh showing during MNF but still found the end zone, hopefully nobody in the Saints secondary is a virgin because GRONK is going DEEEEEP! 69! 69! 69! I’m predicting 2 TD’s from Gronk this week. If I had to guess, the Saints are definitely preparing the run D for Gillislee in the redzone, when they should be worried about #87.
